Book’s reference date 2026-09-10 / data last checked 2026-10-20

Key points in this volumeIn the secondhand business, profits depend not just on selling prices, but on whether a company buys goods for resale or earns fees by connecting buyers and sellers.

Appraisers examine each watch, piece of jewellery and bag on its own, and the company buys them from individuals and sells them in stores and online. Purchases from individuals went from ¥34.1 billion in the year ended March 2022 to ¥104.1 billion in the year ended March 2026.

Sales in the year ended March 2026 were ¥221.7 billion and operating profit ¥9.3 billion, with 97.0% of sales in the Brand and Fashion business (calculated). It also runs a dealer auction, through which ¥106.9 billion of goods passed.
